Colin Skipper first visited Fiji in 2003 on a working holiday, undertaking instructor duties in Nadi and briefly at Matagi Island Resort.
KoroSun Dive was established in 2004 when Colin Skipper was invited back to Fiji to start the company in partnership with Nigel Douglas. It was based at Koro Sun Resort, hence the name, but after 11 years it was relocated to Savasi Island Resort, only 10km from town, where it operates today.
Since 2004, KoroSun Dive owner/operator, Colin Skipper (MSDT) has been sharing his passion for the underwater world of Savusavu, Fiji - The Hidden Paradise. Over the past 18 years there have been many changes to boats, staff and the source of guests and there have also been several major impacts on business such as cyclones Thomas, Winston and Yasa and of course, Covid-19.
Colin met Janine in Savusavu and they were married in 2011. She is a co-director of the company and has had a major impact on the company’s profile and development. A full-time instructor/assistant manager was employed for several years pre-Covid but as yet he has not returned to work. So, while tourism gains momentum in Fiji, Colin and Captain Lai are looking after the diving guests.
Swim with sharks, including our resident school of 100+ scalloped hammerheads, experience swim-thru’s and caverns, enjoy the soft and hard corals (including “magic coral), anemones and clown fish, turtles, nudibranchs, schools of barracuda, tuna, jacks and rays. KoroSun Dive continues to offer a full range of courses up to and including Divemaster as well as daily trips to local sites. Weather permitting, we offer day trips to the Namena Marine Reserve and plan to offer day trips to the Rainbow Reef/ Somosomo Strait.
We look forward to hearing from you to arrange your next diving or snorkeling adventure.
